Aquamarine - the beautiful blue birthstone for March

Posted by Artem Kashin on

Aquamarine, the birthstone of March, has a rich color and has long been a symbol of youth, health, harmony and hope! Its mesmerizing color ranges from pale blue to a deep blue, but sky blue is the most valuable color.

Its name comes from the Latin term "aqua marina," which roughly translates in English as “water of the sea.” So not surprisingly, sailors sometimes carried aquamarines as good luck charms.

The majority of aquamarine is found in Brazil, and the largest aquamarine ever found was in 1910 in Brazil and weighed 110 kg, or 242 pounds!! Other important deposits are in Angola, Kenya, central Madagascar, Malawi, Nigeria, Mozambique, Pakistan, the Ural Mountains in Russia, Tanzania, Colorado, and Zambia.

A perfect birthstone for March, the Aquamarine creates a beautiful accent to spring and summer wardrobes.
